My Story
Following my graduation from University in Leeds, a love of all things people related, led me on a sales career path, and specifically, to recruitment. I spent a successful and thoroughly enjoyable 21 years with Matchtech, one of the UKs largest engineering and technology recruiters, going on a journey from Consultant to Operations Director with responsibility for running a £75m arm of the business.
Aside from giving me a great recruitment foundation, my leadership roles at Matchtech helped develop and hone a number of key commercial competencies including strategic planning and execution, change management design and implementation, financial control and C-Suite client development.
From a people perspective, I built a reputation for cultural excellence and high performance, where my staff were coached, mentored and supported on their individual career paths. One of the fastest growing teams in the group, my division was fuelled by fun, engagement and operational empowerment.
In 2022 I decided to step away from a business and the people that had been a large part of my working life. It was a very tough decision, but I was ready for a new challenge that would re-align my people capabilities with my day job, whilst reclaiming a more sustainable work-life balance.
Interpersonal engagement and relationship development were at the core of my Matchtech role and now form the foundation of the Conekt Consultancy service offering.
